Gynoid And Lipedema

The beauty industry holds a gynoid-shaped woman in high regard as a symbol of beauty and awe, and as a result, the public has been repeatedly told this and encouraged to agree. Unexpectedly, some gynoid-shaped women have been proven in numerous clinical tests to be protected from diabetes and heart disease, which is undoubtedly beneficial for the women who have such form. The cause for the same has never, however, been the subject of a thorough investigation. According to studies, lipedema, a medical condition that has a genetic component and manifests during times of stress and hormonal changes like puberty, pregnancy, menopause, or some stressful gynaecological procedures, is linked to abnormal fat deposits in the lower half of the body, particularly in the hips, buttocks, thighs, and legs in women.
In some women, aberrant fat deposits in the aforementioned locations as well as in the upper limbs may be linked to discomfort or burning (thus the term “painful fat syndrome”), varicose veins, spider veins, or lymphatic kinking and weakening that causes lymphatic fluid leaking. Most of the time, the fat cells are enlarged and inflammatory, which compromises the arteries and leads to fat cell death. Furthermore, this inflammation results in lymphatic leakage into the tissues, a condition known as lipo-lymphedema, which may then progress to tissue fibrosis and frank lymphedema.
This progression is linked to other physical, social, and psychological problems like heaviness, difficulty walking, early arthritis, knock knees, varicose ulcers, dermatosclerosis, inability to socialise due to limited mobility, the embarrassment of the awkward shape developing due to the unusual and abnormal deposition of fat, and not to forget the embarrassment, depression due to loss of shape, heaviness of the limbs, and social comments and ridicule.
