Do’s And Dont’s After Lipedema Surgery:-

Stages and treatment of lipedema
  • Typically there is some blood-tinged watery discharge from the puncture sites for one to three days after surgery so don’t freak out.
  • Depending on your body’s healing process, there may be some pain and swelling for a few days. Until it goes away, it is suggested that you eat well throughout this time and get as much exercise as you can.
For a few days, you’ll receive medication for edema reduction, pain treatment, and infection prevention.
  • For up to 6 to 12 weeks following surgery, there may be swelling, pain, and a hard feeling in the operated as well as  surrounding areas which is typical and will go away over time.
Giddiness in certain people for a short while is common and typical. If the giddiness continues, please check your haemoglobin levels and contact us or a nearby doctor for advice. You might need assistance to raise your haemoglobin levels.
  • Small nodules and some degree of unevenness may be felt, although they often go away with time.
While safeguarding the lymphatic system, we are treating lipedema fat. To guarantee proper shapes, every effort is done to remove the lipedema fat. However, as it is not a typical liposuction treatment, some minor deviations might still exist.
  • Within a week of the operation, begin a high protein, high saturated fat, low carbohydrate diet.
For a minimum of six weeks, regularly use compression clothing.
  • Use a moisturizer and take a daily shower (skin becomes a little dry and itchy during healing process).
For 10–14 days following surgery, avoid applying any pressure to the areas that underwent surgery. For example, if your back underwent surgery, you should avoid applying pressure to it.
  • After one week following surgery, once every three to four days, you can begin receiving gentle ultrasound/radiofrequency massages to enhance circulation and promote lymphatic drainage more effectively. This will hasten the reduction of limb edema.
  • To maintain yourself in shape, healthy, joyful, and happy , take into account intermittent lymphatic massages, compression clothing, lymphatic pump use, a good diet, and frequent exercise.
